While you can hire a PATRIOT PI for criminal investigations, missing person cases, and more, our investigators merely make a name for themselves in the community, which we don’t believe is a small feat. Some private investigators, though, have made names for themselves throughout the country, and people are still aware of them years later. PATRIOT Backgrounds & Investigations, serving Davie, FL, and the nearby region, would like to take a moment to discuss some of the most well-known investigators in history.

Anthony Pellicano

You may know our private investigation company to perform background checks and perform other basic services, but Anthony Pellicano’s known for much more. He was born in 1944 in Chicago and eventually became a high-profile Los Angeles PI.

Anthony wasn’t just known for his sharp detective skills; he also spent 30 months in federal prison for firearms, homemade grenades, and explosives. He later served for wiretapping and racketeering.

Jay J. Armes

As a Texan, Armes has made a name for himself throughout the state. He’s taken it one step further and gained recognition throughout the country.

Armes especially gained recognition due to who his friends were, and he earned the privilege to work with some top names in the industry, including the following:

  • Elizabeth Taylor
  • Marlon Brando
  • Elvis Presley
  • Howard Hughes

Besides being a PI, Armes is also known for having a crime lab and speaking seven languages. He possesses degrees in criminology and psychology and spent time as an actor.

His prosthetic hands also set up his apart from the rest. He didn’t sustain this injury during his time as a PI, though. He actually lost his hands at the age of 12 due to an apparent dynamite incident.

Daniel Ribacoff

Daniel Ribacoff earned the nickname, “The Lie Detective” because he was well-known for being able to catch a liar. He was known as one of the world’s top polygraph experts.

Besides his contributions as a PI, Daniel Ribacoff earned his claim to fame on the Steve Wilkos Show. He held a spot on the show for 11 seasons as the sole polygraph examiner. He’s also made appearances on Millionaire Matchmaker, Brain Games, and Impractical Jokers.

Currently, Daniel is the president and founder of the International Investigative Group, LTD. Some of this many accomplishments include:

  • Working on international child abduction cases
  • Catching armored truck robberies
  • Tracking down art thieves
  • Intervening during celebrity divorces

Paul Henderson

Paul Henderson is known throughout the country as a public speaker and veteran prosecutor. He’s also a champion for social justice. One of these most recent accomplishments was being appointed the Director of Police Accountability. He’s currently working on cases regarding officers using excessive force and misconduct.

Mr. Henderson is a journalist and Pulitzer prize winner as well. As a journalist, he helped clear the name of one man who was falsely accused of sexual misconduct. Henderson created a series regarding the story, which eventually led to the man going free.

Edwin Atherton

Edwin had a lengthy career, despite his short life on Earth. He served as a foreign service officer. He was also a BOI agent and private investigator. At one point, he was part of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Besides being a private investigator, Atherton also served during World War I in Jerusalem, Bulgaria, and Italy.

While any private investigator, including a PATRIOT PI, has a stressful job that requires a certain level of skill and sneakiness, certain professionals have made a name for themselves.
